It has been a fantastic day at Hepworth Wakefield where I organised and hosted a Deaf Awareness Day event with DEX Board team on 13th May 2017.

The diversity of exhibitors present was amazing and each table was very different. Everyone who visited this event was curious yet interested to see what we have to offer.

Face painting for children and adults has been hugely popular closely followed by tombola and raffle.

Many people learnt the benefits of British Sign Language (BSL) and have better understanding of issues deaf people face in their daily lives.

The positive atmosphere was wonderful and there was a real vibrant buzz in the air.

A very worthwhile and enjoyable event had by all to celebrate the national Deaf Awareness Week from 15th to 21st May 2017.

Opposite are some photos taken of the event.
